John Kent, an unsophisticated but lovable all-American football hero, inherits a Parisian
dress shop from his Aunt Minnie, who is known as Roberta in Paris. Will he pursue
love with his classy new French business partner Stephanie, or patch things up with his
college sweetheart Sophie, whose mother didn't think much of him until he started rubbing
elbows with the social elite of Paris? Roberta features Kern favorites like
"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "Lovely to Look At," and
"Yesterdays." Music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Otto Harbach.
Adapted from Alice Duer Miller's book Gowns by Roberta.
