Steinway Artist Robin Spielberg Releases 15th CD: Appearances in Newburyport & Natick

NEWBURYPORT & NATICK, MA: Popular composer and pianist Robin Spielberg will perform on Saturday, May 10th at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in downtown Newburyport at 8pm and Sunday May 11th at the Center for the Arts in Natick. These special “CD RELEASE CONCERTS” will feature music from her brand new CD, “A New Kind of Love” as well as audience favorites from her best-selling recordings.

Mesmerizing audiences with inspired tales, extraordinary piano technique and heartfelt performance, Robin Spielberg is comfortably perched in the top echelon of the contemporary composer/pianist roster, which includes the Steinway Artist Roster. Perhaps what is most intriguing about Robin, other than her extraordinary talent and dynamic performances, is the way she wraps personal stories around her music to give them a particularly memorable flavor.

"While her recordings are truly excellent, it's her live performance, and between-the-songs storytelling, that sets her apart from other artists and pianists. From the moment she walks on stage, until the last note gently caresses the room, Spielberg casts a spell on her audience that is palpable, visceral, and spiritual. Better said - After you see her perform, you'll just feel a whole lot better about the
world. Spielberg is a talented pianist, and an extraordinary storyteller"
-HIPPOPRESS NEW HAMPSHIRE

"She is an amazingly expressive pianist, and her stories of how the pieces came into being are nothing short of inspiring."
-SUN NEWS

"Her music itself was filled with a gentleness of spirit...Spielberg has an undeniable melodic gift" -NEW YORK CONCERT REVIEW

Robin Spielberg has performed in concert halls throughout the United States more than any other living female composer/pianist. Performance highlights include her three concerts at Carnegie Hall, a guest spot on the PBS Special, “The Soul of Christmas”, a concert for factory workers at the legendary Steinway Piano Factory, and a month-long tour through rural Montana and Idaho last Spring. In 2004 she made her Asian debut
at the Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, Korea and returned again in October ‘06. Her music has been heard on over 300 radio stations here and abroad, and has been featured in live performances on "CBS Saturday Morning", PBS, "ABC News" Lifetime Live and “Nightly Business Report.”

Robin’s discography includes fifteen recordings. She appears on over forty compilations around the globe. Spielberg has sold more than half a million CDs.  Spielberg is serving her third term as National Artist Spokesperson for the American Music Therapy Association and often gives lectures and workshops on music therapy in schools, nursing homes and community centers while on tour.

A web site devoted to Robin Spielberg’s recordings and activities as well as a “virtual listening room” of her music is here: http://www.robinspielberg.com
