Dames at Sea to Feature Miss Bay State & Boston Celtics Dancer

AUBURNDALE, MA:  Turtle Lane Playhouse is pleased to announce its spring production, “Dames at Sea”, which opens May 2nd and runs through June 1st. This campy spoof of 1930s movie musicals is the lighthearted, tap-happy comedy that launched Bernadette Peters’ career.  In a featured role is Kerrin Clark of Weymouth, Mass., as Ruby- the fresh-from-the-country ingénue seeking stardom in the Big City. Ms. Clark was Miss Bay State 2007 and also performed at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Also featured is Danielle Morellino, recently of New York City, in the role of Mona Kent, the temperamental Broadway star. Ms. Morellino moved to Boston last year in order to become a member of the 2006-2007 inaugural Boston Celtics Dance Team.

Rounding out the cast are Boston Conservatory students Kristina Bjornstad as Joan, Phil Crumrine as Dick and Michael Reckling as Lucky. Veteran Boston actor Brian-Wolfe Leonard plays dual roles as both Broadway director Hennessey, and a naval ship captain.

Directing the show is IRNE*-award winning director John MacKenzie, who, as a personal challenge, requested not only to direct the show, but to build the set and design the lighting as well.

Turtle Lane Playhouse is located at 283 Melrose Street.  For tickets and information, call (617) 244-0160 or visit www.turtlelane.org.
