Jennifer Ehlert

JEhlert.bmp (212014 bytes)Performing since she was 11, Jennifer has always loved the spotlight. The youngest member of an extremely talented family, Jennifer's first professional stage experience was alongside her father, John Bates, in The Boston Opera Company's production of Madame Butterfly. Smitten by the "theatre bug," Jennifer studied drama in high school and college, performing with U-Mass Lowell's Off Broadway Players, and the University of Michigan Drama Club.

Willing to play any part or do any sort of backstage work, Jennifer has portrayed everything from a dirt-smeared coffee worker (as part of a political street theatre troupe) to the elegant, if not too bright, "Girl with Gossamer Dress" in Camelot's recent production of Chamber Music. Other Camelot roles include Sophia in Fools, Annie in Alone Together, and Corrie Bratter in Barefoot in the Park. Most recently, Jennifer conquered "Maggie the Cat" in Camelot's 2003 production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, as well as an appearance in May'04's Three Short Comedies.

Currently employed at the Orchard House museum in Concord, as an educator and guide, this Summer, Jennifer will be teaching a week long acting course for children at the museum. For fun, Jennifer volunteers with the Boston Bruins community relations department, attends Grad School at Tufts University, and is a sometimes research assistant for U-Mass Lowell's Art History department. Married for nearly ten years to someone whom she refers to as "a very patient and understanding husband," Jennifer sends love to Doug, and a thank you to her entire family for their constant support!
