Synopsis
Once, the little hen and the rooster went to Nut Mountain, and agreed that whoever found a nut would share it with the other. The little hen does find a large nut - a kernal too large to swallowó but she selfishly tries, and chokes. In an effort to help hen, rooster seeks help at the spring, from a bride, and at a tree. But each wants something in return before they will help. Needless to say, Hen dies. After, Fox, Mice, Horses, Bear, Straw, Coal and Stone offer to help, but they cannot bring her back.

GEORGE LARKIN is a writer, developer, and producer of award winning film, theatre, and television. He's developed award-winning independent feature films that premiered at the Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Avignon and Hamptons Film Festivals, and were distributed by Miramax, New Line, Sony Classics, and Samuel Goldwyn. He directed and produced two award-winning shorts taken from his staged readings of Iraqi writers in Baghdad that have screened at such diverse places as ten major film festivals, six times through Amnesty International, academic conferences, college compuses, Iraq, and at the US Air Forice Academy. They also aired on Link TV and received distribution. On November 8th, 2012, his script Bastard Son of William Shakespeare, won second place at the prestigious Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards. In addition, his plays have been produced across the country and been nominated or won fourteen awards, including nine prestigious LA Weekly Awards for best directing, acting, and writing and three Backstage West Garlands. He's also worked in reality television development, helping to develop one show that sold to Sony and having another one optioned by Endemol.  Born and raised just outside Chicago, he is a Yale University graduate and received an M.A. in Shakespearean Studies from the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, a graduate school of the University of Birmingham (England). The program was a scholarly one but included work with actors, designers, directors, and producers of the Royal Shakespeare Company.  Larkin is currently studying for a PhD in Film & Media Studies at University of California-Berkeley where he is now ABD.
