ARLINGTON: The best comedy comes
out of how we deal with life’s tragedies, and The Memory
of Water takes on tragedy with a comic vengeance! Three
sisters return home for their mother’s funeral, each haunted by
her own demons and memories of the past. As the bereaved sisters
indulge in witty bickering and dope-induced dress-up, their
quarrels over the funeral arrangements, their well-worn family
roles, and their mixed memories of a feminine working-class
mother are as hilarious as they are painful. Playwright Shelagh
Stephenson skillfully charts the joyous and distressing
territory of family relationships that with insight and
compassion in this dark comedy. Award-winning director Nancy
Curran Willis. May 31, June 1, 7 & 8 at 8PM,
